The Cleveland Boomerang School - - - Who We Are!!
Organized in 1979 and fueled by thousands of volunteer hours to cure a very BAD MARKET IMAGE. The programs, events, and training are based on design concepts and flight rules developed and originated by the people indigenous to Australia some 10,000 years ago. It was my good fortune during 1973 and 1974 that I, David Boehm, had Joe Timbery, a champion Boomerang flyer, maker, and educator, explain in word and action what he could about Boomerang behavior. Mr. Joe Timbery of the Sydney, Australia, Boomerang School, located now as then in Kings Cross, could have told me "stories," concocted fantasies. He did not. He taught me how to fly!!

An incredibly simple system of control, |
| However, back in the "States", the local Cleveland authorities were not
receptive to the free flying of Boomerangs in many park areas. Decisions would be based on
the unique circular flow of misinformation that surrounds the
Boomerang, in contrast to the delight and interest of many others who were out enjoying
and using the park natural open space. A park ranger or studious judge might examine the concocted short history of the Boomerang as written in 19th and 20th century Western based viewpoint of world history. The flying of Boomerangs was considered uncontrollable and not predictable!! That was then, THIS -- is -- NOW!! Welcome to the Boomerang flying capital of the world! |
