The Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area has a program, Summer Celebrations, which is designed to mirror and celebrate the ethnic and cultural diversity of the peoples of northeastern Ohio with events oriented toward the park's themes of history, natural history, and recreation. Two of the events we have sponsored over the summer of 1982 have focused primarily on recreational activities and the Cleveland Boomerang School has been a featured participant in both programs.

Mr. David Boehm, founder of the Cleveland Boomerang School, has organized the boomerang workshops and demonstrations for these two recreational programs. Over the course of the summer, he and his instructors from the school have taught several hundred novices the art and skill of throwing boomerangs, and very few of these beginners have failed to catch their own thrown boomerangs within the first hour of practice.

Mr. Boehm has put a great deal of time and effort into the Boomerang School's programs here in the park, and has contributed significantly to the success of our celebrations. His devotion to and love of the art of the boomerang is commendable; his expertise and that of his instructors speaks for itself!
