Boom Out!

However, to help guarantee our continued excellent and safe record of year-round Boomerang flying fun for everyone, the staff of the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area recommends you attend one of The Cleveland Boomerang School classes offered here at the park, or available in your area, before you plan to fly Boomerangs at the Special Event Site.

JUST THE FACTS…

Boomeranging could be the World's Oldest Flying Sport. This precision flying device has an obscure historical record which has hidden the brilliance of this clever flying machine. Through instruction and practice, in about 30 minutes, the program class brings most adults up to speed with the Australian Aboriginal. We are rediscovering a flying machine, learning an art - a craft and a skill - while continuing to educate and extend knowledge of the Boomerang's origins.

Since there exists only one way to fly a Boomerang, the year-round workshops include science and history based instructions on how to construct-fly-read the wind. The Boomerang flyer must constantly adjust throwing force and direction to accommodate the changing and invisible wind, just as the Australian Aboriginal did 10000 years ago!
